October 24 – National Bologna Day

Today is National Bologna Day!

Bologna is a type of sausage usually made by rocessing pork and chicken or beef and spices. Bologna is related to the Italian luncheon meat Mortadella. Typically bologna is sliced and used in sandwiches, but bologna can also be used in other dishes and entrees. By far, the most popular use of bologna is for sandwiches. In honor of this lunch-box staple, this page provides information on the history of bologna as well as a few ideas on how you can celebrate National Bologna Day.

On National Bologna Day, you could also celebrate by trying a different kind of bologna sandwich, since not all bologna sandwiches are just bread, bologna and American cheese why not try something a little different like a BBQ bologna sandwich or a Bologna Salad Sandwich Spread.

Enjoy a sandwich from your childhood and reminisce about the good old days.
